Summit Metro Parks welcomes new commissioner to park district board

The Summit Metro Parks Board of Park Commissioners will soon welcome Jill Stritch as its newest member. Ms. Stritch was appointed by Summit County Probate Court Judge Elinore Marsh Stormer.

Ms. Stritch retired as the director of administration for the City of Tallmadge and is an active member of the Tallmadge community. She has served on the Charter Commission for the City of Tallmadge, Tallmadge Community Improvement Corporation, Parks and Recreation Governing Board and Summit County Safety Council. She is a former member of the Tallmadge Community Enrichment Foundation and Tallmadge School Facilities Commission.

Ms. Stritch is an alumnus of Kent State University. She is a member of Tallmadge Rotary and Stan Hywet Hall and Gardens.

“I am deeply honored to be appointed as a Commissioner to the Board of Summit Metro Parks. I am excited to contribute to preserving and enhancing our parks while fostering community connections with nature. I am thankful for this opportunity and look forward to working alongside such a dedicated team of Metro Parks Staff and Commissioners,” shared Stritch. Ms. Stritch joins the Board of Park Commissioners to replace former member Mark Spisak who concluded his 12 years of service at the end of 2024. The Board is made up of a five-person group of volunteer commissioners who are appointed by the Summit County Probate Judge.
