Climb aboard: Touch-a-Truck event brings over 20 vehicles to Munroe Falls Metro Park

Vehicle lovers of all ages: Summit Metro Parks will host Touch-a-Truck, presented by Wayside Furniture, at Munroe Falls Metro Park (521 S. River Rd., Munroe Falls) on Saturday, August 3 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

An autism-friendly hour, free of horns, music and flashing lights, will be held from 10 – 11 a.m. The Summit DD Mobile Sensory Bus will be onsite for the full duration of the event, providing a place where people with sensory needs can take a break from the stimuli of the event. To prepare visitors for what to expect at the event, a Touch-a-Truck “social story” is available at bit.ly/TATSocialStory.

On this fun-filled day, more than 20 park district and emergency response vehicles, large and small, will be available to sit in and explore. Equipment will include a dump truck, bucket truck, 1928 Model AA pickup and more! Visitors can also look forward to: a sandbox with toy trucks and vehicles; food and drinks, available for purchase from The Breakfast Box (vegetarian options available); browsing and shopping children’s books, apparel and more at the Maple Leaf Gifts pop-up gift shop; free take-home fingerprint/ID kits for children from GASP (Guardians Advocating Child Safety and Protection); and Humane Society of Summit County Mobile Adoption Center, which will be in attendance from 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. with a few adoptable animals ready to meet the community and potential adopters.

Please note: The presence of emergency response vehicles is subject to availability.
