Native Navigation
The Indian Signal Tree, an unusually formed Bur oak in Cascade Valley Metro Park, was reportedly shaped by Native Americans to serve as a marker on the old Portage Trail between the Cuyahoga and Tuscarawas rivers.
Federally Endangered
The Metro Parks are home to at least two federally endangered species: Indiana bat and northern monkshood.
